Elites played against ISU Warrior @ Ames first time in the league and as usual we started from Des Moines in the morning reached Ames 30 minutes before schedule. Weather at Ames was ideal for cricket. ISU won the toss again and elected to bowl first.
First Innings: Elite CC batting
Ganesh and Krishna opened this time, starting cautiously but both fell trying to force the pace. Prakash (28) played a good innings with a mix of caution and aggression. Hari started well only to hole out to Sharath at deep midwicket. All other batsmen, except Sunil, were not able to really take off. Sunil played a marvelous innings, holding one end up. He began with singles but went on with some good hits to the fence and finished with 71 just 3 overs short of the innings. Elites finished with 180.

Second Innings: ISU - Spartans batting:
Spartans started to a great spell of lively bowling from Prakash (2 for 20). He was able to work great pace and bounce and had Spartans in trouble straightaway. Saravanan (1 for 18) supported well from the other end. Wickets started falling regularly for Spartans. They were kept in the game with some good knocks by Saurabh (34), Khalil (29) and rearguard action by Jobin (25). Sunil (3 for 29) and Adarsh (3 for 47) did a great job keeping the Spartans middle order under check. It was neck and neck till the end. Elite prevailed with some excellent bowling, backed up by good fielding. Hari took three catches behind the wickets, including a huge skier from Jobin, which clinched it for Elites. Spartans were bowled out for 173, leaving Elites victorious by 7 runs.
