CC Vs. ISU Warriors
VENUE: Ames
RESULT: Elite
CC beat ISU Warriors by 57 runs. Elites are unbeatable in Ames. (9th
win in a row)
Toss: Won by
Warriors; elected to field.
Elite innings:
Ganesh and
newcomer Suresh started very cautiously, the intent being not to lose
wickets. Suresh (17) was the first one to go bowled by Hemanth. Prakash
joined Ganesh and built a solid partnership with some sensible cricket
by both. Ganesh reached his first 50 of the season. He could not carry
on due to exhaustion and retired hurt for a well-made 61. Prakash and
Sunil continued the steady pace before Prakash got out trying to slog
for 41. Hari joined Sunil and watched Sunil cream Sampath for 25 runs
in one over – 2W-4-6-4-6-2-1. Sunil looked set for another big score,
only to be stopped by a good catch in the deep by Anwar. Shashank (22)
and Hari (12) steadied the innings before an lbw and a freak run out
sent them back. Prakash Jr. and Adarsh completed the formalities and
Elites finished with a massive 251 for 6.
Warriors’
innings:
Warriors started
to some lukewarm bowling by Elites. The wind not doing any good for
them, making them spray all over, gifting easy runs to Warriors. An
excellent piece of work (direct hit) by Sunil had Abishek being sent
back and Elites heaved a sigh of relief. Prakash (2 for 29) bowled splendidly
as ever getting 2 early breaks, both dollies to Saravanan. Narasimha
(56) held one end together with wickets falling regularly at the other
end. Adarsh (3 for 42) and Krishna (2 for 25) did the damage in the
middle order. Some lusty hitting by Utkarsh Singh (31) could not help
Warriors and in the end were bowled out for 194. Elites win by 57 runs
to make it 2 in a row for this season at Ames.
